Lately, the fight over abortion rights has become more public and truly vicious in tone. I have come up with two suggestions.

To be fair, for every woman punished by being forced into an unwanted pregnancy, the equally responsible father should be forced to have a vasectomy to prevent any more unwanted pregnancies. He should have child support automatically deducted from his wages for 18 years.

Also, all federal programs — nutrition, housing, childcare — that help women and children must be increased, not cut, to help care for all of those unplanned children.

Abortion rights supporters would never try to force anyone who disagrees with them to have an abortion.

My suggestion for anti-abortion advocates is to keep out of strangers’ bedrooms and personal sex/health/family issues. Why not follow the teachings of Jesus and spend your time and money helping the poor and homeless, the hungry children, the elderly, the sick and needy?

Women are intelligent. They are perfectly able to make their own family decisions and it is insulting for outsiders to get involved.

Bill Nye (the science guy) puts it very simply: “Stop telling women what to do.”
