PARIS — Douglas Fillebrown of Waterford and Shawna Emery of Fryeburg are now full-time dispatchers at Oxford County Regional Communications Center.
Fillebrown and Emery were approved by the Oxford County Commission in August. They were reserve dispatchers until their promotions Sept. 1.
Both received hundreds of hours of classroom, practical and on-the-job training throughout their prior year and a half with Oxford County. New communications dispatchers must receive mandatory training through the state of Maine, National Academy of Emergency Dispatch and other training sources involving the 911 telephone system. They also must complete training in emergency medical dispatching, law enforcement and fire service dispatching, radio dispatching and computer-aided dispatch logging, and acquire a Maine emergency medical dispatch license.
