1951 – 2015

AUBURN — Richard R. Fournier, 63, of Poland, passed away Saturday morning, Oct. 10, after a three year battle with cancer.

He was born Nov. 26, 1951, the son of Joseph Fournier and Imelda Parent Fournier. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1970. He then served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. On Sept. 28, 1973, he married the love of his life, Suzan Verreault.

Rick had a lifelong career in industrial supply sales. He owned Tool-Aid with his father-in-law, Richard Verreault. He finished his career working at Butler Bros, for the last 14 years, where his coworkers became his second family. He was a wonderful father, supportive husband and caring grandfather. He enjoyed spending his time boating and fishing at his home on Thompson Lake. He loved having his family at the lake house for family gatherings. He was a true jack-of-all-trades and was always willing to lend a hand to family and friends. Rick loved to travel and taking cruises with his wife, it became his favorite getaway. He especially looked forward to their annual trip to Las Vegas.

He is survived by his wife, Suzan Fournier;  his dog, Petey; his daughter, Nicole Bauer and her husband, Eric; his son, Joseph Fournier and wife, Erica; and three grandchildren, Attean Fournier, William Bauer and Spencer Fournier. He is also survived by his three sisters, Gemma Granger, Suzanne Armstrong and Jeanne Boucher; his brother, Daniel Fournier; and his large extended family.

He was predeceased by his mother, Imelda; father, Joseph; father-in-law, Richard; and his nephew, Adam.

The family would like to thank the Hospice House in Auburn, for their care and support of Rick and his family.
