LEWISTON — Community members are invited to participate in a free French sing-along session at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College, 51 Westminster St.

Songs will be lead by Les Troubadours.

“Everyone is welcome to join, even people who are not fluent in French or don’t know all the words,” said Aliette Couturier, Troubadours regular and one of the sing-along founders. “We provide song books and ‘joie de vivre’ to go with it.”

Organized in 2010 by the Maine Folque Co-op in collaboration with USM LAC’s Franco-American Collection, the monthly series of song sessions takes place from September through June, usually in Room 170 at the college.

The event is free and open to the public.
