AUBURN — Internationally touring comedian Louis Ramey, who recently completed a series of shows at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, will headline Maine Event Comedy at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at the Fireside Inn, 1777 Washington St.
The night will also feature comedy from Brian Brinegar, Anna Cranage Conathan and host Mark Turcotte.
Ramey, an Atlanta, Ga., native, first attempted stand-up while in college and has since performed on the “Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” recorded a half-hour Comedy Central special and was a finalist on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.”
He’s toured England, Dubai, India, Australia, Hong Kong and entertained the troops for a USO Comedy Central special at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. His other television credits include ABC’s “The View,” NBC’s “Showtime at the Apollo,” CBS’s “48 Hours,” and Nickelodeon’s “Nick at Nite.”
Thrice named Maine’s Best Comedian by the Portland Phoenix, Brinegar is originally from Los Angeles and has worked with Last Comic Standing winner Iliza Shlesinger. He was featured on the Comedy Time Network and has performed at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles and the Ice House in Pasadena, Calif.
An accomplished actress, comic and screenwriter, Conathan has worked Los Angeles’ Improv and Comedy Store as well as Gotham Comedy Club in New York City. She was featured as a “New Face” at the Montreal Comedy Festival, and opened for Paula Poundstone at the National Organization for Women’s annual conference.
Turcotte founded the Comedy Fix fundraising series and was recently selected to perform in this years Boston Comedy Festival.
