Legion Post 22 to meet

LEWISTON — The American Legion Post 22 will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at the Lewiston Armory. Those attending should wear hats.

The post will sign in new members. Any veterans wishing to have their names placed on a monument in Veterans Memorial Park should bring discharge paper, DD 214.

Commander Jerry Dewitt will discuss Veterans Day and membership.

The Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 5 p.m., and will also discuss membership and serve lunch following the meeting.

Loaves, Fishes offering Bingo

LEWISTON — Loaves and Fishes, sponsored and administered by the Dominican Sisters in Sabattus, will be holding Bingo at the Cavalier Hall, 855 Lisbon St. behind Staples Friday, Oct. 16.

Doors open at 3 p.m. and Bingo will start at 6:30 p.m.

Loaves and Fishes will have Bingo every Friday and will also be open on Sundays for Super Bingo. Doors will open at 10 a.m.; Bingo will start at 1 p.m., and again on Monday, when doors will open at 3 p.m. and Bingo will start at 6:30 p.m.

All are welcome.

Animal blessing service

AUBURN — The West Auburn Congregational Church, 811 West Auburn Road, will conduct a “Blessings of the Animals” Service at 9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 18.

This custom is conducted in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi’s love for all creatures.

The service will feature a special musical presentation of the hymn, “The Friendly Beasts” with Maine Country Hall of Fame singer and songwriter, Jewel Clark. She will be accompanied by the Rev. John Williams.

Those who do not have a pet or animal to bring are welcome.

Ladies of St. Anne to play Halloween bingo

LEWISTON — The Ladies of St. Anne Sodality of Holy Family, Prince of Peace Parish, will hold a membership meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Parish Hall.

The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and Halloween bingo will start at 6. Members and guests are welcome.

Those attending are asked to bring one bag of wrapped candy, which will be donated to the d’Youville activities project for Halloween trick or treaters visiting the home.

Refreshments will be served. 

Members are reminded to return the cash raffle ticket if they have not done so.

Craft and vendor fair

AUBURN — Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 31 will hold a craft and vendor sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at 426 Washington St. N.

Tables are $15 for rent without electricity, $20 with electricity.
