1948 – 2015
AUBURN — Donald Densmore Bullis, 67, of Oxford passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the Hospice House in Auburn, surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born on June 22, 1948, to the late Donald G. and Arlett M. Bullis in Lynn, Mass. At the age of 16, the family moved to Maine, where he graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School in 1966. While attending Barrington College in Rhode Island, Don enjoyed spending his summers as a camp counselor in upstate New York.
He worked over 20 years for the Portland Press Herald newspaper, first in the mailroom and later as a circulation manager. He also made a career in the retail industry for 20 years before retiring from the Oxford Wal-Mart in 2013.
Don enjoyed spending time with his sons, watching Red Sox and Sea Dogs games at Fenway Park and Hadlock Field.
He is survived by his fiancée, Ruth of Oxford; sons, Ryan of Topsham, and Dan and his wife, Nicole, of Westbrook; and two granddaughters, Veronica and Hope.
