OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Winthrop/Monmouth scored three consecutive touchdowns and two-point conversions late in the third quarter Friday night, rallying from a 13-6 deficit to a 30-13 win over Old Orchard Beach in Class D South football.
Alec Brown carried 28 times for 228 yards and three touchdowns, including scores of a 13 and 9 yards in the third-quarter flourish for the Ramblers (4-2). Antonio Meucci capped the run with a 3-yard plunge.
Dylan Creswell and Erik Hogan rushed for scores early in the wild quarter to give OOB (2-4) the lead.
Brown had a 1-yard score in the first quarter. He sacked Creswell twice. Nate Scott and Meucci intercepted passes for Monmouth/Winthrop, which also received seven tackles and a sack from freshman Noah Elegdebe.
Deering 49, Edward Little 14
PORTLAND — Matt Verrill threw two touchdown passes for Edward Little, but the Red Eddies fell to their fourth consecutive Class A loss, 49-14, at Deering on Friday night.
Nate Richards ran for a touchdown, caught a touchdown pass and had two interceptions for the Rams (5-2).
Max Chabot threw three touchdowns and ran 42 yards for a score on a bootleg. Pat Viola caught a touchdown pass and kicked seven consecutive conversions. Dom Bernard caught a touchdown pass, ran for a touchdown and paced the defense.
Tyler Blanchard caught a 35-yard TD from Verrill for a 7-0 EL lead. Deering had five unanswered touchdowns before Grant Hartley caught the second score for the Red Eddies (2-5).
Wells 41, Gray-New Gloucester 6
WELLS — Gray-New Gloucester held Wells scoreless in the first quarter Friday night, but the Warriors rolled up 27 points in the second stanza and cruised, 41-6, in Class C South football.
Reid Chase got it started with an 88-yard TD ramble for the Warriors (5-2). Evan Whitten, Owen Berry and Jake Spofford also scored in the second quarter.
Justice Bowie had the touchdown for the Patriots (4-3) on a quarterback keeper. Whitten and Sam Hazlett added second-half Wells touchdowns.
Windham 47, Oxford Hills 13
WINDHAM — Oxford Hills was within a touchdown at the half, but Windham scored 27 unanswered points to race away with a 47-13 Class A football win Friday night.
Jake Spinhirn’s TD run kept the Vikings (1-6) even at 7-7 early. Windham (5-2) led only 20-13 at the break.
