1930 – 2015
WELD — Henry Hess Blau Jr. of Weld and Wellesley, Mass., husband of the late Jane (Broughton) Blau, died on Friday, Oct. 16.
He was born Feb. 16, 1930, in Speers, Pa., son of Henry Hess Blau and Edith Piersol Blau, the brother of Elizabeth B. Stickney of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Carol B. Perot of Belvedere, Calif. He grew up in Columbus, Ohio, and graduated from the Columbus Academy, Yale University and Ohio State University.
He worked as a physicist specializing in optics and atmospheric science at Arthur D. Little, GE, Environmental Research & Technology and Wayland Research.
He is survived by his children, Janet Blau Cobb (Danny) of Shrewsbury, Mass., Henry H. Blau III of Newbury, N.H., and Peter B. Blau (Cristina) of Concord, Mass.; and grandchildren, Daniel S. Cobb Jr., Lindsey P. Cobb, Peter B. Blau, Jr. and Andrew C. Blau.
