STRATTON — ReEnergy Stratton will host an open house to celebrate National Bioenergy Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 27 Fox Farm Road.
Tours will be held at 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Refreshments will be available.
ReEnergy Holdings owns and operates power facilities that use forest-derived woody biomass and other wood waste residues to produce homegrown, renewable energy. ReEnergy operates in five states and owns four energy facilities and one recycling facility in Maine — 48-megawatt biomass facility in Stratton, a 39-megawatt biomass facility in Livermore Falls, a 37-megawatt facility in Fort Fairfield and a 39-megawatt facility in Ashland.
Some of the electricity produced at ReEnergy Stratton is sold to a local business while the balance is sold into the New England wholesale electric market.
ReEnergy employs more than 100 people in Maine and directly and indirectly supports more than 700 jobs.
