PORTLAND — In honor of National Pro Bono Week, Oct. 25-31, Chief Justice Leigh I. Saufley announced that the Maine Supreme Judicial Court honored Maine lawyers who each contributed at least 50 hours of legal assistance to low-income elderly and needy Maine people in ceremonies across the state in the coming weeks.
This year, the court recognized 152 lawyers and three law students for donating 14,793 hours of legal work to Mainers in need of civil legal assistance. These legal services have an estimated market value of more than $2 million.
Lawyers from Androscoggin and Oxford counties were honored Friday, Oct. 16, at the Androscoggin County Superior Court, hosted by Associate Supreme Judicial Court Justice Ellen Gorman.
Lawyers from Oxford County included:
Shelley Carter, Law Office of Shelley P. Carter, PA; Jarrod S. Crockett, Siegel & Crockett Esq.; Edward Dilworth III, Dow’s Law Office, P.A.; and Sarah Glynn, Oxford Hills Law.
Lawyers from Androscoggin County included:
Nicole Bissonnette, Pine Tree Legal Assistance Inc.; Daniel Dube, The Dube Law Firm; Mara King, Andrucki & King; Michael Malloy, Brann & Isaacson; Heidi Pushard, Law Office of Heidi M. Pushard; Elyse Segovias, Andrucki & King; Molly Watson Shukie, Linnell, Choate & Webber LLP; Stephen Tepler, Hardy, Wolf and Downing; and Heather Walker, Paradie, Sherman, Walker & Worden.
