JAY — Spruce Mountain High School has announced upcoming events for the week of Nov. 2-13.

Guidance News: Ellie Duley will begin her duties as interim guidance counselor and college adviser for SMHS on Monday, Nov. 2.

Picture retake day: Lifetouch Photography will be at SMHS on Tuesday, Nov. 3, for picture retakes. Any students who missed the first picture day will have an opportunity to have their pictures taken, and anyone unhappy with their first pictures can return them and have their pictures redone.

Math meet: The SMHS Math Team will compete in the Pi-Cone North Math Meet at Lake Region High School on Wednesday, Nov. 4.

End of the first ranking quarter: Friday, Nov. 6, will mark the end of the first ranking quarter. Report cards will be sent out within the next week. Parent-teacher conferences will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 17, and Wednesday, Nov. 18. Please call the high school to arrange conferences.

JMG I&I Ceremony: The Jobs for Maine Graduates will hold an Initiation & Induction Ceremony at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, in the SMHS cafeteria. Families are invited to attend.

Veterans Day: There will be no school on Wednesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day.

Olympia Snowe Leadership Conference: Sophomore girls from SMHS will attend the Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Conference on Thursday, Nov. 12, at the University of Southern Maine Lewiston-Auburn College.

Fall Sports Banquet: The fall sports banquet for field hockey, football, soccer, golf, cheering and cross-country will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, in the cafeteria. Brownie ice cream sundaes will be served before the banquet. All athletes and their families are invited at attend.
