Maine State Police say Paul Comeau, 67, of Leeds was driving and needed help from the Kennebunk Fire Department to get out. Comeau was taken to Southern Maine Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, according to a statement from Maine Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.

Police say Comeau likely fell asleep before the crash.

The truck, owned by Chapman Trucking of Auburn, was hauling crushed glass, which spilled onto the parking lot.

The truck slid about 100 feet in the parking lot and came within inches of striking a parked motor home occupied by Bonnie and Kerry Bowden of Belmont. Neither was injured. Their Jeep, being towed by the motor home, sustained minor damage and the couple was able to drive away.

Comeau may face charges, according to McCausland’s statement.
