CARTHAGE — Franklin County deputies are looking for a Carthage man accused of grabbing a woman by the hair and slamming her head through the passenger-side window of his truck, according to police.
Deputy Andrew Morgan responded to a 911 call at 12:47 a.m. Sunday from a woman in Carthage who told dispatchers the girlfriend of Bennie Bowie II, 47, of Carthage, showed up at her house naked and bleeding from the neck, Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. said Monday.
The Sheriff’s Office has issued an arrest warrant for Bowie.
The investigation revealed Bowie and the victim had been in Bowie’s pickup truck, coming from Rumford, when a domestic dispute became heated, Nichols said.
“As a result, Bowie grabbed the victim by the hair and slammed her head through the passenger side window which simultaneously cut her neck, causing a severe injury which required her to be transported to Lewiston for surgery where she remains,” Nichols said.
Bowie is facing a felony domestic aggravated assault charge and is currently being sought by law enforcement.
Morgan was assisted by Lts. David St. Laurent and David Rackliffe, Detective Kenneth Charles and Cpl. Matthew Brann.
