1937 – 2015

AUBURN — George A. Doyon, 78, of Union Street in Lewiston, died Friday morning, Oct. 30, at the Hospice House with family at his side.

He was born in Auburn on June 16, 1937, the youngest of seven children born to Ernest and Josephine (Demers) Doyon. George was educated in Auburn schools, graduated from St. Dominic’s Regional High School and remained a lifelong resident of this community. He graduated from Bliss College in 1960 with a business degree and worked many years in office administration for several local businesses. In 1993, he went to work in the office at Damon Mechanical Services and 22 years later, was still currently employed and actively working there at the time of his death. In his free time, George was a team member for Androscoggin Prison Ministries offering support and prayers to the inmates.

He was a loving, devoted and hardworking brother, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed.

George leaves behind a brother, Roger Doyon and his wife, Georgette, of Lewiston; numerous nieces and nephews; several cousins, friends, coworkers and extended family at Damon Mechanical Services in Auburn.

He was predeceased by his parents; and five brothers and sisters, Albert Doyon, Henrietta Poulin, Jane Michaud, Marcel Doyon and Rene Doyon.
