1934 – 2015

LEWISTON — Elizabeth L. Turcotte was given her wings on Monday, Nov. 2. She passed peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She will meet her husband, Rene J. Turcotte, who died April 15, 1995, and her grandson, whom she loved dearly, Shawn M. Fitzsimmons, who received his wings on Sept. 11, 2004, at the age of 24.

She worked for more than 30 years for Bates Fabrics before joining Geiger Brothers in Lewiston.

She loved people and was shining light to all that met her, always warm and caring.

She enjoyed bingo, word puzzles, knitting and crochet and reading Readers Digest.

Elizabeth was born Oct. 30, 1934, to Ida B. Spencer and Bernard S. Spencer, both deceased.

She is survived by her son, Danny E. Fitzsimmons and his wife, Lisa A. Fitzsimmons, of Lewiston; daughters, Doris Caron of Lewiston, Diane Labbe and her husband, Gerry, of Lewiston; two sisters, Dorothy Doidge of Tennessee and Ethel Simpson of Massachusetts; and two brothers, James Lawrence and his wife Gail Lawrence, of Lewiston, and Arthur Lawrence of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by her brother, David Spencer of Lewiston; two grandchildren, Ricky Hudson of Lewiston and Jason Hudson of Turner.

We would like to thank Carol Gauagher and Beth from Beacon Hospice Care for making her last days comfortable in her home. Thank-you so much.
