River Valley Roast Nov. 5

GREENE — Leavitt Area High school will host the River Valley Roast from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Greene Grange Hall.

The Roast is a hometown harvest supper with roasted pork, chicken and farm fresh veggies. 

Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and $5 for children younger than 10. Proceeds from the dinner will go to starting an FFA chapter at Leavitt Area High school students.

Library holding bottle drive

LIVERMORE FALLS — The Treat Memorial Library will have a bottle drive Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6 and 7, to raise money for children’s furniture.

Keep Me Warm supper Nov. 7

FAYETTE — There will be a Keep Me Warm supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Fayette Central School.

Beans, casseroles, salads and desserts will make up the menu.

The LaClaire’s to perform

LIVERMORE — The LaClaire’s will perform their annual Livermore concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the North Livermore Baptist Church, 619 Federal Road.

The LaClaire’s are award-winning bluegrass musicians.

The church will offer refreshments and a free will offering.

Seniors to have harvest dinner

RUMFORD — The Rumford Senior Citizens will have a harvest dinner at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at the old Peru School, Main Street. Ham with all the trimmings and dessert will be served.

Heywood Club Nov. meeting

NORWAY — The Heywood Club of Norway will hold its November meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at the Clubhouse.

There will be a brief business meeting and a guest speaker at 7 p.m. Sue Denison of Norway will share her thoughts and wisdom about the 14 one-room schoolhouses in Norway with a slideshow presentation.

Denison was the narrator for the recent trolley bus tours and told about each schoolhouse as the public rode the trolley bus around Norway.

Members are reminded that dues must be paid at a cost of $10 per member. The Club is still accepting donations to help defray costs for the Clubhouse painting and anticipated repairs.

Spine injury topic of conference 

FARMINGTON — The Wilderness Medicine Collaborative will hold its next conference from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at the Ben Franklin Education Center Bass Room, Franklin Memorial Hospital.

The topic will be “Practice Guidelines for Spine Protection of Injured Patients in the Austere Environment”; assessment and care of the patient with a real or potential spine injury in prehospital setting.

It will be followed by a practical skills session on Spinal Protection Techniques and Trauma Patient Transport.
