Stephens High ’53 to meet

RUMFORD — Members of the Stephens High School Class of 1953 will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the River Valley Grill.

The day is a change from the usual Wednesday meetings.

Daughters chapter to meet

RUMFORD — St. Timothy’s Circle No. 504, Daughters of Isabella, will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, the Holy Savior Church Hall for a potluck supper with a monthly meeting to follow. 

Chairpersons are Debbie Dorr and Lisa Doherty. Committee members are Kay Lawler, Theresa Vaillancourt and Ann White. Daughters are asked to please bring a hot dish or salad for the supper.

Tickets for the biggest Fund Raiser of the Year, the Thanksgiving Food Raffle, are available by contacting Lisa Barrieau at 357-2727, Doris Bourret at 364-8509, or Judy Collette at 364-5157. Raffle tickets are also on sale at the church Super Beano game between 5 and and 6 p.m. or through any Daughter. 

Daughters are being asked to donate non-perishable items. Cash donations will also be accepted. Goods or donations should be brought to the November meeting. The winner will be drawn on Nov. 21 at the Holy Savior Craft Fair.

Mexico High School Class of 1948

RUMFORD — The Mexico High School Class of 1948 will meet at the River Valley Grill at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Library to hold reception for vets

WEST PARIS — The Friends of the West Paris Library will host a reception for local veterans on Veteran’s Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 226 Main St.

Following the 10 a.m. service at the West Paris Veteran’s Memorial, presented by American Legion Post 151, the library will open its doors to the community in honor of our veterans. Coffee and donuts will be served; there will be patriotic songs by Jim Bennett, as well as poetry by Rodney Abbott, and a chance to socialize.

Of special interest to local people, the library will have a display of memorabilia from World War I and II on loan to the library from the West Paris Historical Society. This display will include photographs, letters, uniforms and other items of interest from these two military campaigns, donated to the Historical Society by local families. These will be in the library the month of November.

Bethel Seniors to meet

BETHEL — The Bethel Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, for a meeting and potluck dinner. 

The location of the meeting has changed and will be at the Bethel Methodist Church.

Stephens High School Class of 1951 luncheon

MEXICO — The Stephens High School Class of 1951 will hold its November luncheon at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Covered Wagon. All classmates are welcome.
