1926 – 2015

WILTON — Emily Louise White, 88, of Wilton passed peacefully on the morning of Saturday, Nov. 7, with beloved ones by her side.

She was born Nov. 21, 1926, in Bridgeport, Conn., a daughter of Hugh and Frances (Ayres) O’Donnell. She received her education in Connecticut schools and married Edgar M. White Jr. in Milford, Conn., on Feb. 7, 1949. For 37 years, she was employed at Harvey Hubbell Co., an electronics manufacturing company in Bridgeport, Conn. She and her husband moved to Wilton in 1987 and enjoyed traveling (usually taking at least two bus tours annually), cruising to Bermuda, dancing and dining out. He predeceased her on Dec. 30, 2007.

Emily was a member of the Wilton Congregational Church. She was proud of reaching 48 states in her travels, and belonged to a bowling league, the Red Hat Society and Wiltona.

She is survived by her son, Edgar White III of Connecticut; stepson, George A. White and his wife, Josephine, of Wilton; grandson, George A. White Jr. and Cheryl Howard of Livermore; greatgrandsons, Nicholas and Thayne White; great-great-grandson, Caleb White; sister, Peggy Brown and her husband, Bill, of Connecticut, sisters-in-law, Bunny Gammon of Waterford, and Pat O’Donnell of Connecticut; her “daughter,” Erna White, (a special friend and caretaker) and Brian White of Jay; and special friends, Norman and Linda Blodgett of Weld, Pearl Steward of East Wilton and Marielle Labbe of Wilton.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her six brothers, Hugh, Jim, Ray, Frank, Joe and Carl.

Emily will be missed.
