1936 – 2015

SILVER SPRINGS, Fla. — Leonard Melbourne Jepson, 79, of Silver Springs, Fla. and Litchfield, passed away on Friday, Nov. 13, at Emily’s Hospice in Ocala, Fla.

He was born in Lewiston, July 17, 1936, the son of Fred L. and Edna I. (Dorsay) Jepson.

He graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn in 1954 and from New England Institute of Anatomy & Embalming in Boston. He also served in the United States Air Force.

He married Helen L. Tame on March 31, 1956. They started the Richmond Memorial Funeral Home; it was renamed Jepson Funeral Home, which they owned and operated for 30 years. He was a past member of the Lions Club, Shriners Kora Flag Unit, Masons, Bowdoinham Village Lodge, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Enterprise Grange of Richmond, Richmond Volunteer Fire Department, and the DRUM Church.

He was predeceased by his parents and a son, Leonard M. Jepson Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Helen; two sons, Leonard (Scott) and wife, Laura, of Oklahoma, Bradley and wife, Robyn, of Gardiner; daughter, Judy and husband, Bruce Leach, of Bowdoin; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

At his request there will be no service.

Arrangements are under the care of Kincer Funeral Home, 130 Pleasant St., Richmond.
