LIVERMORE — The Board of Selectpersons voted Monday to approve early closures of the Town Office for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
Christmas Eve is on a Thursday this year and the office is usually closed on Wednesdays. Selectperson Megan Dion said that Christmas Eve morning is usually busy. “Tons of hunting and fishing licenses are sold that day for gifts. Snowmobile registrations are also popular, if there is snow,” she said.
Treasurer Amy Byron offered to work that morning if other staff wanted to use accumulated time and take the day off. “I would do it for the office staff,” she said.
The board unanimously voted to close the office at noon Thursday, Dec. 24.
The board also agreed to close at noon on New Year’s Eve, Thursday, Dec. 31, for year-end reports.
Both early closures will be posted on the town’s Facebook page.
