HARRISON — The Boxberry School moved into its new location this September at Camp Fernwood Cove in Harrison. The are 11 K-5 students this year in a multi-age classroom that incorporates the beautiful natural surroundings into as much daily play and instruction as possible.
The Boxberry School utilizes the “Balanced School Day Schedule,” that allows for at least two outside and eating breaks each day — one in mid-morning and one in mid-afternoon. That helps students and teachers maximize instructional time while also staying nourished, mind and body, consistently throughout the day.
Kimberly Leighton has returned for her second year at Boxberry and there is Maria Yanni, a veteran teacher who offers a wide range of experience.
The Boxberry School does have openings for elementary school-aged children. For more information, call 207-743-9700 or visit our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/TheBoxberrySchool/ or go to: www.boxberryschool.org.
