On Veterans Day, I went to Mac’s Grill in Auburn for a complimentary burger. After the meal, I asked the waitress if I owed anything, as I had ordered fries, slaw and a soft beverage.

She replied that everything was free that day because I was a veteran. I then left a tip for the waitress, but she spotted me doing that and replied that they were not accepting any tips from any veterans that day.

I just thought that the staff of Mac’s should be recognized for that very nice gesture.
