1929 – 2015
LEWISTON — Normand Conrad Rivard, 86, died on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 5 p.m. after being struck by a motor vehicle in front of his home attempting to cross Lisbon Street in Lewiston.
Normand “Norm” was born in Lewiston on March 28, 1929, the son of Louis and Daisy (Gagne) Rivard. He was married to Claudette (Blier) in Lewiston on July 29, 1949. He tended bar at the Webber Avenue Social Club for more than 30 years where he formed many special friendships.
He was an avid fan of New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and local ice hockey teams.
He is survived by his loving wife, Claudette, of 66 years; a son, Normand Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Bangor; two daughters, Diane Drinkwater and husband, Gary, Lorraine Bard and husband, Roger, both of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Jennifer Hebert of New Hampshire, Amy Heimerl of Auburn, Andrew Bard of Lewiston and Marissa Rivard of Bangor; two great-granddaughters, Allison and Paige Hebert of New Hampshire.
Normand was predeceased by his father; mother; two brothers; and three sisters.
He will be forever remembered as a caring, loving husband, father and grandfather.
