Cribbage league to play Wednesday

LEWISTON — Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League second place winners at the Lewiston Memorial Armory on Nov. 19 were Richard Champagne and Gerry Therrien.

Cribbage will next be played Wednesday, Nov. 25. No games will be played Thursday, Nov. 26, due to Thanksgiving.

Dempsey Center memorial service

LEWISTON — The Dempsey Center will hold its Second Annual Memorial Service from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6. The public is invited to remember a loved one in the company of others. Those who have died from cancer over the past year will be honored.

Flying Club hosting seminar

AUBURN — The Bald Eagle Flying Club will be moving its two airplanes, a cessna 172 and an Alarus, into hangers at the Auburn-Lewiston airport around Tuesday, Dec. 1, for the winter months. The 35 members will be actively flying these airplanes in and out of Auburn-Lewiston throughout the winter.

In addition, the BEFC is sponsoring an aviation safety seminar at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, at the Main Terminal Building at the Auburn-Lewiston Airport. The seminar title is “Loss of Control,” and it will be presented by FAA Safety Team Regional Manager, John Wood.

All pilots and individuals interested in aviation are encouraged to attend this seminar and an informal gathering at the CAVU Cafe in the airport terminal from 4 to 6 p.m. on Dec. 7.

Ho-Ho-Holiday Fair Dec. 13

LEWISTON — The Ho-Ho-Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, at Ramada Inn, 490 Pleasant St.

More than 50 crafters and vendors will be attending. Proceeds will benefit the Trinity Soup Kitchen. Those attending are asked to bring a nonperishable food item for donation. Cash donations will also be accepted.

Vendor tables available for fair

POWNAL — North Pownal United Methodist Church will host a Christmas fair from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at 851 Lawrence Road.

Rental tables are $30.

The sale will include crafts, handmade items, baked goods, the Candy Cane Café and more.

The church will offer, zuppa soup, fish chowder, friendship soup, hot dogs, Italian sandwiches, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chicken, ham, egg and tuna salad and beans; beverages, tea, coffee, punch, water, apple cider and hot chocolate; and gingerbread with whipped toppig for desert.
