Library hosting adult craft night

NORWAY — Norway Memorial Library will host an evening of paper crafts for adults at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1.

Those attending can make affordable decorations for the holidays with paper, re-use gift cards from last year and create bows with wrapping paper leftovers.

Participants will make a variety of items including paper ornaments, origami stars, 3D snowflakes/stars, tissue paper flowers, wrapping paper bows and gift tags. Participants are asked to bring scissors. All other supplies will be provided.

Registration is required. Those interested can visit the information desk or call 207-743-5309, ext. 1.

Knitting Guild to meet

PARIS — The Western Maine Knitting Guild will meet at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at the First Congregational Church on East Main Street.

This will also be the guild’s Christmas party and pot luck luncheon. Those attending should bring an item for the food pantry. There will be a gift exchange, and the price maximum for gifts is set at $5.

If the weather is inclement, the guild will cancel events if schools are canceled.

New members are always invited to attend meetings.

Holiday carol singing workshop

BETHEL — SAD 44 Adult Education has announced it will offer a carolling workshop.

Simon Smith will teach a holiday carol workshop for singers hoping to gain more choral experience on Wednesdays, Dec. 2, 9 and 16.

The class will be from 5 to 6 p.m. and costs $10.

Participants will practice holiday carol singing in part harmony. The first two classes are in Room 218 at Telstar High School. In the third class, participants will go caroling in the community.

American Legion Post 24 hosting Christmas party

RUMFORD — American Legion Post 24 will host its annual Christmas party from 5 to 11 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4.

RUMFORD — The Knights of Columbus will sponsor an annual blood drive from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, at the American Legion Hall.

Early Childhood Club to host spaghetti benefit supper

FARMINGTON — The Early Childhood Club at the University of Maine at Farmington is hosting a spaghetti benefit supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at W.G. Mallett School, 16 Middle St.

The supper will benefit a local family who has recently lost their home to a house fire.

Donations will be collected at the door, and child supervision is available throughout the evening.

Suggested donation items include: Size 3T and 5T child clothing, nonperishable food items, size small women’s clothing, toys and children’s books.
