On Dec. 8, I will be supporting Benjamin Chin, Lewiston’s next mayor. I am a lifelong resident of Lewiston, a college student at Central Maine Community College and actively engaged in this community.
I have often questioned if I should remain in my home town to further my education, my career and start a family here.
The current mayor has surrounded Lewiston with negative headlines, creating a further divide among this community. I believe it is time for a change.
The mayor’s role as an individual is to be an ambassador for the entire city, not just certain groups of people; one full of energy, who will listen and respond to everyone, despite differences. Chin’s campaign has shown just that. He sought to discover all citizen concerns.
Ben Chin has proven that he is fully committed to Lewiston. He will bring fresh ideas and positiveness to this community.
