AUGUSTA — the Maine State Museum’s annual model railroad celebration gears up for two days of old-fashioned wonder and fun this year on Friday, Dec. 4, from 9 a.m., to 4 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 5, from  10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Railroad engineers and crew this year are from the Great Falls Model Railroad and Maine 3-Railers clubs. Club members will set up and operate a variety of displays running G, HO, O, and N-gauge model trains.

Free museum admission both days.
