1939 – 2015
POLAND — Orene Bahre, 76, died on Tuesday, Dec. 1, in Poland surrounded by her family.
She was born in Bethel on Feb. 9, 1939, to Georgia M. (Thurlow) and Charles B. Mason. She spent her early years in the Bethel area.
She married Robert Osgood and they had three children together. Orene worked for many years in the food service industry, including Harvey’s Restaurant in Bethel, Bean’s in South Paris and ran the cafeteria at the Tannery.
She married Richard Bahre on Nov. 30, 1985, in Statesville, N.C., where they lived for many years.
Orene loved to travel, enjoyed NASCAR and just being at home. The last five years she has maintained her home with her niece, Sally Bartlett and partner, Sue Reny, in Poland.
Survivors include a son, James Osgood and his wife, Marjorie, of Newry; daughter, Cynthia Bray of Mechanic Falls; a beloved niece, Sally Bartlett and her partner, Sue Reny; a stepdaughter, Dawn Nickloy; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, William Mason, Stuart Mason and wife, Gail, all of South Paris, and Wayne Mason and his wife, JoEllen, of Arrowhead, Okla.; and a sister, Sandra Mason of Bethel.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Richard A. Bahre; a son, Gregory Osgood; a son-in-law, Thomas Bray; brothers, Charles B. Mason Jr., Robert Mason and Edmund Mason; and sisters, Bessie Carll and Josephine Brown.
