1927 – 2015

BRYANT POND — JoAnne May Walters III, 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at her home in Bryant Pond.

JoAnne was born in Dexter on July 16, 1927, a daughter of Harold and Doris Clukey Sr. JoAnne lived a full life and touched many. She had lived in West Palm Beach, Fla., half of her life and resided in Bryant Pond for the rest of her years. She was a big part of her brother, Harold, and his family’s life. JoAnne worked in Harold’s drug store in Bethel, at Trap Corner, as a coordinator for RSVP and was a notary public. She enjoyed reading, work puzzles, game shows, her two cats Holly and Folly and had oftentimes donated money to a cat shelter. Most of all she loved her family.

She is survived by two granddaughters; one grandson, Nathan Clukey of California; sister-in-law, Violette Clukey of Bryant Pond; nephews, Roland Clukey and his wife, Cathy, of Plymouth, John Clukey and his wife, Lorraine, of Poland Springs, David Clukey and his wife, Grace, of South Korea; and great-nephews and great-nieces, Branden, John Michael, Sean, Morgan, Erika, Trisha, Jacob, Cameron, Ezra and Lina.

She was predeceased by her parents; older brothers, Quentin, Cyrel, Rolla, Vernon and Harold Clukey Jr.; daughter, Jackie Howard of Minot; and niece, Terry Johnson of Portland.

The Clukey family gives many thanks to Don Parker of Bryant Pond, Pat Early and Janet Coverdale of Bethel, to all the nurses from Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice and especially to Dr. Richard DeCarolis of Bethel Family Health Center, all of whom showed many kindnesses to JoAnne during her illness.

JoAnne, we felt your love, enjoyed your great sense of humor and loved listening to your wonderful stories. You are a strong influence in our lives and we will always remember and love you.
