1956 – 2015
LEWISTON — James G. Gagnon, 59, a resident of Lewiston, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Dec. 12, at his home.
He was born in Farmington on Nov. 5, 1956, the son of Lawrence and Doris (Lauzier) Gagnon. He was a graduate of Jay High School and continued his education in drafting and design at Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute. James resided in Massachusetts for more than 30 years, he worked as a draftsman and designeer for Hasbro, Kodak, Parker Brothers, as well as several other companies. He relocated to Fullerton, Calif., where he stayed for 3 years before returning to Maine.
Jim was a talented self-taught artist, an animal lover, and Red Sox and Bruins fan. He enjoyed, music, playing guitar, traveling the back roads of Maine, ocean views and swimming. He loved to cook was known for his delicious meat pies. James had a generous nature and loved to give presents at Christmas to his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was a wonderful son, brother and uncle and will be deeply missed by his family.
He is survived by his father, Lawrence Gagnon of Turner; Susan Gagnon of Farmington; Kathy Jolicoeur and her husband, Gerard, of Jay; Jane Gagnon of Auburn; and Laurie Anderson of Turner.
He was predeceased by his mother, Doris Gagnon.
