KINGFIELD — A Franklin County deputy is investigating a burglary last weekend at Kingfield Wood Products on Depot Street where a vending machine was vandalized and snacks taken.

The machine was smashed, Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. said Tuesday. There were pry marks on the money box in the machine but the box was not opened, he said.

Deputy Sandy Burke responded to the burglary reported at 5:56 a.m. Monday and Cpl. Kevin Hartley assisted him.

The plant manager is working to determine the damage and cost of the contents in the machine, Nichols said.
