1933 – 2015

AUBURN — Carl T. Duplisea, 82, of New Gloucester, passed away peacefully at Hospice House in Auburn, on Wednesday, Dec. 9, with his family by his side after a short illness.

He was born in Gray on Sept. 25, 1933, the only child of Carl T. Duplisea Sr. and Marguerite M. Duplisea. He attended schools in Gray, graduating from Pennell Institute in 1950. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years before returning to Gray.

He married Pauline Dudley on Nov. 14, 1954. He worked as an oil burner repairman with Liberty Oil for many years. He spent the last 38 years of his life in New Gloucester.

Carl was an avid golfer, even getting a hole-in-one on one occasion. He enjoyed the outdoors, particularly gardening and hunting with his son and granddaughter. His grandchildren were the light of his life and he loved attending their many activities.

Carl is survived by his wife of 61 years, Pauline D. Duplisea; his children, Cheri Taylor and her husband, Rodney, of Auburn, Todd Duplisea of Norway, and Sandra Coulombe of Gray. He has four grandchildren who were the light of his life, Michelle Strattard of Gray, Rebecca Sexton of Austin, Texas, Jessica Duplisea of Durham, and Jeffrey Duplisea of Falmouth.

The family would like to thank the Hospice House for their kind support in this time of grief. We would also like to thank Clover Manor for making it possible for his wife to spend time with him during his time at the Hospice House.
