SCARBOROUGH (AP) — There’s going to be no white Christmas across much of Maine. But golfers aren’t complaining.
Dan Hourihan from Nonesuch Golf Club in Scarborough says he’s fully booked with 150 golfers because of the warm weather on Christmas Eve. He says the golf club will remain open until “until Mother Nature tells us there’s no more golf.”
Across Maine, the temperatures will be above normal, ranging from the 40s in northern Maine to the 60s in southernmost Maine.
It could be a record-setting day.
Nikki Becker of the National Weather Service says Portland should beat the current record for the date of 53 degrees. Records could also fall in New Hampshire and Vermont.
