A Bangor school teacher has been ordered to remove a Christmas tree from her classroom (Associated Press article in the Sun Journal Dec. 22).
Such actions are depriving students of this country’s culture. Any teacher comfortable doing so should not only be allowed to display a Christmas tree, but also a nativity scene, a Star of David and a menorah.
Why does it harm young people to know those symbols exist?
