CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — After a stretch of mild weather, some areas of Northern New England are about to face the first major snowfall of the season.
Snow is expected to start falling in southern New Hampshire after midnight Monday and gradually spread into Maine by daybreak Tuesday. It’s expected to mix with or change to sleet before tapering off to freezing drizzle Tuesday night.
The National Weather Service is putting out a winter weather advisory for the region early Tuesday. Snow accumulations are expected to reach 4 to 8 inches in some areas.
In Vermont, 3 to 7 inches of snow is expected, with the highest amounts over the mountains in the central and northern parts of the state. Ice accumulation is expected to up to a tenth of an inch.
