1933 – 2015

RUMFORD — Norman R. Roy, 82, of Rumford and a lifelong resident of the area, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at Rumford Hospital.

He was born March 18, 1933 in Lewiston and was the son of Ernestine Roy. He had worked at Stearns & Meserve Packing Co. as a “smoke man” in the Lewiston-Auburn area, Livermore Shoe as a shoe cutter, and for several years at Diamond Match in Dixfield, until retirement.

He loved animals and had many dogs, cats, horses and birds. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved dancing at LeParesseux Snowshoe Club. He also loved playing keyboards and the guitar. He was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius-St. John Church in Rumford.

Only distant relatives survive.
