Recently, I attended the Impeach LePage rally in Augusta. The Impeach group, of which I was a part, was exercising its civil right to peaceful assembly when a group of LePage supporters moved close to us and began shouting “Paul LePage, Paul LePage, Paul LePage” over and over again in an effort to disrupt our assembly and drown us out.
I find it ironic that the people who were there to protest LePage’s bullying would be subject to bullying by the people who were there defending LePage’s conduct. We responded by shouting back “Bully, bully, bully, bully …” until they finally got the message.
On my way back to Norway, all I could think of was “Maine, the way life should be.” What the hell has happened to the state I love?
