RUMFORD — Funeral services for Sheridan V. Thornton, of Rumford, were conducted on Sunday, Jan. 10, at 2 p.m., at the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford, with the Rev. Jane C. Rich officiating.
A special music selection “Amazing Grace” was sung by Rena Fitzmorris. Words of remembrance were given brother, Charles Thornton; daughter, Lisa McReavy; son, Glenn Thornton; great-niece, Abbie Kain; great-nephew, Darren Kain; niece and godchild, Penny Carver who also read the poem “My Father’s Hands”; and daughter-in-law, Kristine Dorer.
In attendance was also a delegation from the Rumford Fire Department. Pallbearers were Pete Bellegarde, Wendall Farnum, Chuck Thornton, Rick Thornton, Brian Edwards and Steve Palmer. Interment in the spring will be at the Abbotts Mill Cemetery, Rumford. A reception followed at the home of Sheridan and Jeannine Thornton in Rumford.
