1929 – 2016

FALMOUTH — Beverly Arline Rand Koenig of Durham passed away at the age of 86 on Wednesday, Jan. 6. She passed peacefully with family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston at Keatings’ Maternity Home on Nov. 10, 1929, and was educated in schools in Bridgton and Fryeburg. She graduated from Bridgton High School in 1947 and Wilson Laboratories in Boston in 1949.

She worked at the old Brunswick Hospital before marriage. In 1949, she married her husband, Ralph Koenig, at the West Congregational Church in Portland.

A resident of Durham since 1969, some affiliations included: Durham Congregational Church, trustee; town of Durham, Planning Board, Budget Committee and ballot clerk since 1971; Durham Historical Society, past president, secretary and treasurer; Lisbon Area Christian Outreach; and Durham AMVETS Auxiliary Post 13, president in 1984 and 1985.

Beverly is survived by her children, a daughter, Kyle Elizabeth Koenig Lord, and six sons, Neil Rand Koenig and wife, Cori, of Orange, Calif., Glen Alan Koenig and wife, Rhonda, of Seminole, Fla., Dale Scot Koenig and wife, Sue, of Lisbon Falls, Dana Ralf Koenig of Durham, Kris Edwin Koenig and wife, Lisa, of Durham, and Todd Sprague Koenig and wife, Lori, of Durham. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Beth, Kevin, Nicholas, Jeremy, Nathan, Seth, Dylan, Natalie, Mitchell, Noah, Abbye, Alexis and Rustina Koenig, Justin, Jordon and Jared Lord, Kimberly Koenig Leclair, Taylor Koenig Labbe and Sara Koenig-Barnett; as well as her great-grandchildren, Zacharey Hulen, Holden Labbe, Anthony Mendes, Daniel, Maria, Adam, Noah, Liam and Pearson Koenig.

Beverly is predeceased by her husband, Ralph W. Koenig, who passed April 1, 2004; mother, Julia A. Caton Rand; father, Roland S. Rand; her aunt, Bernice M. Parker; granddaughter, Amanda Lee, 1 month old; and great-granddaughter, Cadence Rebecca Koenig, 8 days old.
