I wanted to clarify an article that appeared Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015. The article spoke at length regarding RSU 16’s food-service debt and then, in a following sentence, indicated that Randy Plummer and Leslie Hayes had offered their resignations.
To readers, the perception might have been that the resignations were associated with the financial losses.
That was not the case.
Randy Plummer’s separation from RSU 16 was a retirement after decades of exceptional service to the district and the former Mechanic Falls School District.
Leslie Hayes’ resignation was for personal reasons.
Neither of them is linked with the school district’s financial liability.
