RUMFORD — With colder temperatures, skating will begin Thursday in the Hosmer Field Complex.
Rumford Parks Superintendent Mike Mills said Monday that once the rink is open, “You can skate anytime, but the shack (at the Parks Department) is open Thursday to Sunday.”
Skating shack hours, when maintenance work is not being done, are:
• Thursdays, 2:30 to 8 p.m.;
• Fridays, 2:30 to 9 p.m.;
• Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and
• Sundays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Monday through Wednesday, there is open skating, but the skating shack is closed. There is skating anytime after 11 a.m.
Also, when the skating shack is open, there are free skate rentals available. Skate-sharpening costs $2 per pair.
