1953 – 2016

Susan Marie Bowden, 62, of Lewiston, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Jan. 11, 2016 at Central Maine Medical Center, following complications due to pancreatic cancer.

She was born in Lewiston, June 21, 1953 to Clarion Child and Flora (Wing) Soper. She attended Lewiston High School and was a graduate of the Class of 1971.

She was employed as a bank teller and for the past 15 years, before she retired in 2014, worked at TD Bank North in the ACH Department.

She enjoyed the outdoors with her husband, fishing, hunting, kayaking, metal detecting and four-wheeling. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Stephen Bowden; four daughters, Shelly Olmeda of Florida, Stephanie and Dale Brochu of Jay, Stacey Bowden of Leeds, Sandy and Kurt Whiting of Lewiston; 13 grandchildren, Stephen, Latoya, Shantel, Shanisa, Alisha, Toni, Kurt, Jacob, Cody, Elia, Sergio, Jack and Morgan; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda and Robert Levesque and Clarissa Collins; three brothers, Donald Soper, Harold Soper Jr. and Bruce Soper Jr. and fiancee, Liz LeBlanc; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents, Clarion and Dorothy Child, Flora and Harold Soper and three brothers, Irving Child, Norman Child and Robert Soper.

A special thank you to all the staff at Medical Oncology – Central Maine Medical Center, CMMC-ICU and Dr Nicholette Erickson, who took great care of Susan.
