1930 – 2016
AUBURN — Glendon G. Briggs, 85, of South Paris, passed away on Monday, Jan. 18, at the Hospice House in Auburn.
He was born in Buckfield on April 14, 1930, the son of Gerald and Louise Tucker Briggs. He graduated from Buckfield High School and had been a woodsman and a farmer all of his life. He married Muriel Thurlow on Sept. 24, 1955. He was a car salesman with his brother in Buckfield and made maple syrup with his father for many years. He also built three homes. He enjoyed genealogy and learned computers in his early 70s.
He is survived by his wife, Muriel, of South Paris; son, Stephen and his wife, Jayne; grandson, Jason Briggs and his wife, Charlee; granddaughter, Jessica Briggs and her partner, Milo Washer; great-grandchildren, Rylee and Chandler Briggs and Jadah Adams and Madix Washer; and a brother, Harley Briggs and his wife, Laila, of South Paris.
