Buttons 4 Babes volunteers meetings
JAY — Buttons 4 Babes volunteers meet at Otis Federal Credit Union every second and fourth Tuesday from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the community room on the first floor.
The Button Bee creates bracelets to raise funds for children in critical need and for the local homeless shelter. Materials are available and new volunteers are welcome.

Duplicate Bridge Club to play Friday
OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Jan. 22 in the Recreation Building, King Street, when an eight-table Mitchell movement was played.
Finishing first in flight A N/S were Dotty Kelleher, Westbrook, and Mike True, Auburn; second, Jack Mahoney, Brunswick, and Dan Morganstern, Brunswick, who also were first in flights B and C ; third, Denny Raymond, Waterford, and Jim Dickens, Naples, who also were second in flights B and C; fourth, Pete Cummings, South Paris, and Dick Allen, New Gloucester; third in B, Cynthia and Bill Clifford Jr., Lewiston; fourth, Diana and Jim Fallon, Bridgton, who also were third in flight C.

Brain Injury Support Group to meet
RUMFORD — The Western Maine Brain Injury Support Group will host its first meeting Tuesday, Feb. 2, at 82 Congress St.
Brain injuries affect all communities in Maine. Falls, motor vehicle crashes, sports-related concussions and violence represent real risks to Mainers.
In addition, combat-related brain injuries and health problems such as strokes, brain tumors and other diseases can cause acquired brain injuries, which result in significant thinking, emotional, behavioral and physical changes that alter lives.
Knitters to hold Valentine party
OXFORD — The Western Maine Knitting Guild will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, at Eleanor Heidrich’s home, 434 Main St.
Members wishing to carpool should meet at the First Congregational Church, South Paris, at 9:45 a.m.
There will be a Valentine party with a card swap, knitting and a show-and-tell. Wear something red for Heart Month as well.
Bring a hot dish, salad or dessert to share for the potluck luncheon. New members are always welcome.
If school is canceled due to weather, the meeting will be canceled.
