1921 – 2016
LEWISTON — Raymond D. Tremblay, 94, formerly of Horton Street, Lewiston, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 28, at d’Youville Pavilion with his family by his side.
He was born in Conventry, Vt., on March 12, 1921, the son of Patrick and Gratia (Menard) Tremblay.
He was the widower of Myrela V. Roy, whom he married on July 26, 1941.
Following his family moving to Lewiston, he worked as a welder for Bath Iron Works for 41 years and later as a self-employed carpenter where he enjoyed doing woodwork.
A longtime parishioner of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Raymond enjoyed his camp on Middle Range Pond where he loved to fish and also enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by his children, Mark Tremblay and Francine Mongue; his grandchildren, Erin, Greg, Stephanie, Patrick, Peter and Keith; his great-grandchildren, Asian, Kiera, Jacob, Pearl, Sophie, Beau, Andrew, Finn, Dorothy, Lilah, Brooks, Chelsea and Ellen; and by his great-great-granddaughter, Sailor.
He was predeceased by his daughters, Jacqueline Ryan and Monique Tremblay; and by his brothers, Charlie and Louie Tremblay.
The family would like to thank Beacon Hospice and d’Youville Pavilion for the wonderful care they gave to Raymond during his last days and also to Bolster Heights while he was living there. Thank you.
