Grange to meet at restaurant

LEWISTON — Androscoggin Pomona Grange 1 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, at the Chick-A-Dee restaurant, Lisbon Street, in lieu of a meeting.

Pinochle, pitch players welcome

LEWISTON — Pinochle and pitch card games for seniors are played weekly at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave.

New players are always welcome. Pitch is played at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays. Pinochle is at 1 p.m. on Thursdays. Refresher courses are available in both categories.

The armory is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. You must become a member to play.

Valentines being collected for veterans

LEWISTON — Tri County Mental Health is collecting Valentine’s cards from the public that will be distributed to veterans at Togus and at Maine nursing homes.

Panagore to address Auburn-Lewiston Rotary

AUBURN — The Rev. Peter Baldwin Panagore, writer and host of Daily Devotions on WCSH-6, will be speaker at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Auburn-Lewiston Rotary Breakfast Club at the Auburn Methodist Church, 439 Park Ave.

Panagore will present his life story of how he survived his death experience while ice climbing in Alberta, Canada. His book, “Heaven Is Beautiful,” will be available to purchase for $18.

Breakfast will cost $10.

Trail Blazers to meet Wednesday

MEXICO — The Mexico Trail Blazers will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, downstairs at the Mexico Town Hall.

The club will have T-shirts available at the meeting as a fundraiser. The money goes into the trail systems. All are invited.

Boston Flower Show trip being planned

BETHEL — SAD 44 Adult Education will sponsor a trip to the Boston Flower and Garden Show at the Seaport World Trade Center on Saturday, March 19. The $65 fee includes round trip motor coach transportation and admission to the show.

At 1:30 p.m. the bus will go to Quincy Market for dinner and shopping. The bus will depart from Telstar High School at 7:15 a.m. and arrive back in Bethel at approximately 6:30 p.m.

Seats must be purchased by Monday, Feb. 8. There will be no refunds after that unless the trip is canceled due to the weather.

Wilton Friendship Squares to host dance

WILTON — The Wilton Friendship Squares will host a square and round dance from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, at the Cushing School.

The dance will be mainstream/mainstream plus, and the caller will be Bill Fulton. Carol Arsenault will be the cuer. Admission is $6 a person. All square dancers are welcome.
