JAY — An East Dixfield woman’s SUV went out of control Thursday morning on ice and slush on Morse Hill Road in North Jay, left the road and struck a private utility pole and a mobile home.

Donnajean Buckley, 50, was traveling west toward Route 17 when her vehicle hit ice and slush on a shaded section of the road, Sgt. Russell Adams said.

The accident was reported at 10:17 a.m.

Buckley was out of the 2005 Chevrolet Trail Blazer when police arrived, Adams said.

She was checked by medical personnel from NorthStar EMS ambulance but was not taken to a hospital, he said.

Central Maine Power shut off the power prior to the Blazer being towed away.

The accident damaged the skirting of the home owned by Jo Hoke, as well as wires and the pole, Adams said. The SUV received heavy damage.

Jay Fire and Rescue Department members provided traffic control.
