NORWAY — This winter, organizations within MaineHealth are conducting a food fight as a way to highlight healthy eating by sharing recipes that feature local fruits and vegetables.

Stephens Memorial Hospital is looking for healthy recipes featuring spinach from the community.

Participants should submit their best spinach recipe in the form at: www.MaineHealthFoodFight.com. Deadline for recipe submissions is Monday, Feb. 8.

The top two recipes will be made by the hospital’s food service team, and residents have the chance to taste both and vote for their favorite one to advance to the final round.

The final round is a tasting event and celebration held from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, at MaineHealth, 110 Free St., Portland.

All MaineHealth member organizations will join to sample the top recipes from each organization. All of the winning recipes will be prepared by a catering company and attendees will vote on which one takes the top spot. Judging also includes taste-testing by a panel of local celebrity judges.

Prizes will include a $250 Hannaford gift card for the individual whose recipe wins the final round.
