PARIS — Woodlot owners and those interested in learning about opportunities to actively manage property for personal objectives may attend a seminar about woodlot management.

Woodlot owners in Maine manage their woodlots for a number of different reasons: aesthetics, firewood, maintaining the health and value, recreation, wildlife and forest products.

Chandler Buie, a forester with Prentiss & Carlisle, will facilitate the course and organize presentations from a number of experienced foresters with different backgrounds. The information will help woodlot owners make decisions about how to sustainably manage woodlots for years to come.

The class will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays beginning Feb. 22 in Room 220 of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. Registration is required by contacting Oxford Hills Adult Education at 207-743-8842.

This course is sponsored by the Oxford County Soil and Water Conservation District.
